4. Razor Hats
The iconic hats with sewed in razor blades that you had to have to be a Peaky Blinder is actually a myth. There's no evidence that the gang used these.
3. Corruption
The show has portrayed Birmingham as a city controlled by the Mafia and full of corruption in the 1890s, but this is also far from reality. As there were different gangs in Birmingham at that time, none were as powerful as the peaky blinders gang we see in the show.
2. The Irish Policeman
Just like in the show there was an Irish Police man in reality at the time of the peaky blinders who did try to stop them, but only that in reality he was successful in taking them down, than dying off of a woman's hand (Aunt Polly) as shown in the show.
1. Hate, and Alot of it
This is how some people who have read Birmingham's history would describe the peoples feelings about the Peaky Blinders in the 1890's. People hated the Peaky Blinders unlike in the show and this hate and a social boycott was one of the reasons the gang disappeared after a few years.
